WELCOME TO THE INDIE PRACTICE

KATE BEAVIS - COMPANY DIRECTOR

HOW IT all STARTED

Marketing and PR is about creating relationships with audiences via online and printed channels.  As Founder of The Indie Practice, I set up the business to champion indies, giving SME’s the podium they deserve and within a budget, they can afford. My experience is based on building relationships with clients and contacts and offering marketing strategies and support that are easily maintainable and incredibly achievable.

And best of all, I am in a unique position as I can see marketing from different angles:

I write for magazines so understand what journalists want.

I have 20 years of retail and marketing background so everything I do is commercial.

I also run my own award-winning wedding blog and personal blog/social accounts (with over 200K followers) so I know what people want, how to get to the top of Google and how to grow engagement and make videos. And I’m a BIG TikTok fan with over 60K followers and 1M views per month.

I even used to run a Point of Sale and Signage department so know good design!

Oh, and I LOVE to shop - I am an avid consumer!

Kate Beavis

Kate started out in retail part time while studying but she soon caught the retail bug. With numerous management roles including Area Manager, Head of Visual Merchandising and Retail Design both in the UK and overseas, she learnt how to train teams, manage people and 4M budgets as well as managing photo shoots and working on brand launches. After the birth of her first child she knew that she wanted and needed a change, so set up the award winning vintage shop, Your Vintage Life with her husband. Her blog led to a magazine column which led to to a book deal and the rest is history! She now champions indie business owners with a no nonsense approach believing that while they may not have huge teams and never ending budgets, they still deserve to make their business a success. She is also a TikTok influencer and Bedfordshire Business Of The Year.
